Arts and Humanities

By starting your studies at COCEEU on our Foundation Year, you develop a wide-ranging understanding of the ways in which businesses work, as well as essential mathematical skills.

The Foundation Year prepares you to continue your undergraduate / graduate studies in the specialism of your choice . Studying in small classes for 35 hours per week, plus 20 hours of self-study per week (recommended) , you will be thoroughly prepared to enter your chosen degree at one university.

Our experienced tutors help you to develop the academic knowledge and practical skills you’ll need to succeed throughout your degree and in your future career. Thanks to this course your chances of passing the entrance exams at your chosen university in Slovakia will greatly increase.

Academic Slovak Skills

The Academic Slovak Language Skills module provides thorough training in the Slovak language and related academic skills to prepare you for degree-level study at university in Slovakia. You will develop your academic writing, effective reading strategies, presentation skills, note taking, essay writing and ability to contribute in group discussions. This module will ensure you reach the required level in reading, writing, listening and speaking in order to progress to your chosen university.

Academic English Skills

The Academic English Language Skills module provides thorough training in the English language and related academic skills to prepare you for degree-level study at university in Slovakia. You will develop your academic writing, effective reading strategies, presentation skills, note taking, essay writing and ability to contribute in group discussions. This module will ensure you reach the required level in reading, writing, listening and speaking in order to progress to your chosen university.

The Arts

Understand fundamental concepts and terms associated with two and three dimensional art, and analyze how the elements and principles are used used by artists to compose a picture

European Art and Theater

Have gained an overview of the development of European Art and Theater from ancient to contemporary phases.

The Drama

Be able to identify with confidence the representative period of an art work or drama through an analysis of style, technique, and subject matter.

Art History Timeline

Possess a deepened understanding of the values and aspirations of different periods mirrored in the arts.

Theater Production

Distinguish between the different theatrical genres, recognize key terms associated with theater and differentiate between elements used in theater production

Art + Technology

Students will demonstrate performance-based competency in technology.

    The program is formed by 8 modules. You’ll be monitored through continuous coursework and end-of-term or end-of-module assessments to ensure you stay on track. Your coursework includes a series of presentations, test and extended essays.
